Comfort, Convenience and Technology
Science and technology have done wonderful things for us to enhance our lives. We are living in a time where comfort and convenience play a big role. It is effortless to watch a movie on our smart devices, to order food from the delivery service and to be in contact with family and friends around the world. In every moment!
All these kinds of accesses changed our perception of life, but will all these accesses lead us to a better life? Does it mean more technology creates a better life-experience?
Boredom
In today’s world, you see more and more children and adolescents who do not know what to do. They are bored! Under the thrill of technology, they are bored! That is insane.
Young people 40 years ago did not have this technical wealth and probably not that kind of boredom. They climbed trees, jumped in lakes and forgot the time while they were playing in the forests. They were always active and figured out how things were functioning. Boredom only came up when the weather was too bad to spend time outside, and friends were busy elsewhere. Then you stared out of the window, hoping that the rain would stop quickly!
Lives and Possibilities
That is totally different today! Young kids see their lives and possibilities only through their phone screens! They think that’s their life, but they are not alive!
Today’s society lives in high comfort, but their well-being is not existent.
As boredom increases, so will the frustration. With all the technical devices in our lives, we will not become happier. We certainly need them to a certain extent, but we must not forget our inner values and abilities. Imagination and dreaming are two of the many skills that must be present in our lives!
Whichever dream we like to dream – we choose!
Childhood means simplicity. Look at the world with the child’s eye – it is very beautiful.

I totally agree with your post! Technology is taking over, and it’s becoming an addiction and dependency to Artificial Intelligence. I wrote a Haiku poem about this as well (https://amiracarluccio.com/2018/09/15/haiku-poems-technologytecnologia-poem-dedicated-to-zaza/ )
We need to become more aware of the insidious overcoming presence and all the new advances towards trans-humanism that continue to grow at a fast pace…
