Are we Learning for Life or Income?

Our childlike curiosity is a fascinating starting point to make learning creative and exciting.

Our school time was not always exciting or thrilling. Seated in a classroom for 6 to 8 hours and listening to someone who often did not feel the beauty of learning, was not particularly attractive. How many times did we come home and were completely unhappy? How often did we feel scared or insecure, when the next exam was scheduled?

Learning in school requires to squeeze kids into fixed categories.

Learning should make people happy

Education should make people happy and not frighten them! Unfortunately, today’s school system is not a learning system but an institution to generate future income! Is this really education? The school system is based on an economic system and not on a value system of human possibilities.

Learning for the industrial process

Young people are squeezed into specific categories to function in an industrial process later in their lives. Children are so eager for knowledge, open to new things and full of the urge to get to the bottom of things but at the same time, they are seated like chicken in laying batteries. Today’s generation of unhappy adults is based on these old school and learning structures. How many of us are not inspired at all by their job?

Adults are often very unhappy with their job.

Childlike Curiosity

Our childlike curiosity is a fascinating starting point to make learning creative and exciting. Equipped with billions of brain cells and an incredible variety of applications, we should make true education fully accessible to young people. Their curiosity must be protected, and the thirst for new knowledge must never be curtailed.

Childlike curiosity is the greatest condition for learning

If we could turn back time

If we were able to turn back time and decide what we love to learn, what would it be? What deep wishes would then come to light, which talents or dormant abilities would be awakened?

What would you do?

Don’t limit a child to your own learning, for he was born in another time.

(Rabindranath Tagore)
