We are often afraid of things that we know nothing about it.
When we were young, we never felt fearful but once we got into our daily routines as an adult with our day to day robotic jobs and regular structure we are often afraid of things that we know nothing about it.
What is the reason for this kind of behaviour or mindset?
Why are we afraid?
We are so afraid of new situations or tasks in our daily lives. We might be anxious about starting a new job or business because we are worried to fail. We might be fearful of running a marathon because we are scared of the distance. People might be frightened to start their dream project because they are afraid of other’s judgment.
The main question is why we are so afraid of things that we have never even seen before?
This kind of mindset prevents us from taking action, from opening to new horizons from seizing exciting chances.
Afraid and Overwhelmed
Mostly we are afraid because we are overwhelmed by the dimension of the whole project or task.
But how would you eat an elephant? Bite by bite. That’s comparable to new projects, they start with the most important first step. You don’t have to run a marathon, but you can do a 3k run or start a part-time job to gain experience. If you are scared of snakes, maybe you visit a local zoo and observe them. Perhaps you get the chance to touch a snake under the observation of the zookeeper.
Don’t let so many people or things limit your life and your personal expression just because you are afraid.
A unique possibility
Just have a close look and assess the situation, just as it is. Resist the temptation to forecast the future, because you don’t know what is going to happen! Just see everything as a unique possibility.
Every event in your life could be a real stepping stone. It is all about your own responsibility – the ability to respond!
But don’t respond with fear, because fear is the result of a non-existing outcome!
Just start something new today. What could that be in your life right now? Write it down in the comments!
Enjoy your day and the new project!
